Susie Izard (an artist) and her daughter Cate Smith (a rural contractor & animal health technician) are the drivers of this unique visitor experience.
At Silverstream Clydesdales we are passionate about preserving the history and unique features of this rare horse breed. We are an authentic family run business showcasing New Zealand values and friendliness, we love to share our knowledge of this rare breed with visitors from round the world.

After many years of hard work, challenges, learning and developing our knowledge, we are building our herd of purebred Clydesdale horses. We now have seven Clydesdales; are active members of the Clydesdale Horse Society of NZ, the Canterbury Clydesdale Club and are on the Mackenzie A&P Show Committee.

We show our horses at Agricultural and Pastoral horse events in the South Island and regularly take them on multi-day rides with friends in the mountains, as well as learning harness work.

At Silverstream Clydesdales we aim to continue our breeding program to contribute to the future security of this respected breed. We are hugely supported by the NZ Clydesdale community and continue to keep learning but, most importantly, have fun!
